Luxbright secures X-ray tube development deal with L3Harris' divested EMRF Division
Luxbright announced on May 30th, 2024, a significant development agreement with L3Harris, now Fisica, Inc., owned by Kanders & Company, Inc based in the USA. The deal precedes L3Harris Technologies' recent divestiture of its EMRF division to Kanders & Company.
Under the Statement of Work, Luxbright will finalize the design and manufacturing process of customer-specific X-ray tubes to fulfill existing orders from Fisica. The project is expected to commence serial production in Q3, 2024. The agreement also establishes a framework for improvements and future developments. It represents a major milestone in the companies' partnership. Together with earlier announced orders of X-ray tubes, the total current order value is approximately USD 1.5 million.
"The development agreement with Fisica is of great importance for Luxbright and a key milestone in our growth journey," said Mats Alm, CEO of Luxbright. "It underscores the strength of our collaboration with Fisica and their confidence in our ability to deliver high-quality, customized solutions. We look forward to continuing to develop innovative products together."
Göran Zelander, CCO at Luxbright, added: "Luxbright's broad and deep expertise in X-ray technology and our state-of-the-art production environment enable tailored solutions for customers like Fisica. We are confident this agreement will also open doors for similar new partnerships, as our ability to adapt and develop advanced products for various X-ray applications makes us a reliable partner for future projects."
On April 5, 2024, L3Harris announced the intention to divest its antenna and test equipment businesses, including Applied Technologies Inc. (ATI), Datron, and Randtron, to Kanders & Company. The acquired businesses now operate under the Fisica, Inc. brand. Fisica is headquartered in San Leandro, California, with additional operations in Menlo Park and Simi Valley.
