GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN – 7 January 2021. Luxbright AB (NASDAQ: LXB), a leading creator of breakthrough X-ray emission solutions, recently shipped its first 160kV and 130kV M-series X-ray tubes to the USA. Despite the turbulence caused by COVID-19 during 2020, the company was able to overcome the challenges and deliver on this milestone. The tubes are being delivered to a customer who is makes X-ray machines to scan parts for quality inspections. “These first two tubes are quite special and deliver unprecedented performance for a glass envelop X-ray tube. The 160 kilovolt tubes use our patented anode innovation to deliver focal spots sizes smaller than previously thought possible and at a competitive price. This makes it possible for several applications, which previously didn’t use microfocus, to now benefit from higher resolution images.” – Mats Alm, CEO. This is Luxbright's first product line, called the M Series. These are a special type of microfocus X-ray tube utilizing the company’s patented "Electron Antenna" to achieve the ground-breaking performance. X-ray tubes in glass envelops are the most common type of X-ray tube, but they are not commonly used for microfocus performance. The M series products have the capability to generate higher resolution images compared to conventional X-ray tubes because they provide a significantly smaller focal point at the corresponding power and voltage. Another exciting aspect is to achieve this performance in the higher kilovolt (kV) range. A higher kV X-ray tube, like Luxbright’s 130kV and 160kV versions, can penetrate denser materials and are conventional for the NDT and security inspection industries. Luxbrights innovation makes it possible to have microfocus in a glass envelop X-ray tube, something X-ray machine manufacturers have been asking to have for several years. “Overcoming all the obstacles of 2020 and achieving this goal is an incredible accomplishment by the team. We will carry on developing these and other products, and we look forward to continuing to deliver value to our customers and shareholders during 2021 and beyond.” – Anders Brännström, Chairman of the Board. Luxbright completed its first sale and delivery of 120kV M-series tubes at the end of 2019. The M-series is intended to form a financial basis for the company to be able to develop its product family that uses an advanced nanomaterial in the cathode to create X-ray emission. The company believes that the cold cathode is the X-ray equivalent of the LED light, both in terms of its technical performance and the market potential. An important technical advantage is the reduced heat generated using cold cathode, which enables simpler cooling devices than those used for conventional X-ray tubes. Therefore, X-ray systems can be made smaller and more portable, which can create new opportunities for the X-ray industry. For more information, please contact:
